Megan Thee Stallion‘s race to GRAMMY gold was culminated Sunday night (March 14) by a historic win in the Best New Artist category.
Stallion had already run into GRAMMY history books earlier in the night when she became the first female act to take home a Best Rap Performance trophy (click here to read more).
Now, she’s bested the likes of Ingrid Andress, Doja Cat, Phoebe Bridgers, Chika, Noah Cyrus, D Smoke, and Kaytranada to be crowned 2021’s Best New Artist.
The win comes as yet another history-making measure for the 26-year-old as she’s only the second female Hip Hop act in history to own the award. Lauryn Hill became the first when she collected the trophy in 1999 as part of her unprecedented sweep of the 41st annual GRAMMYs.
